Livestock, Poultry and Fisheries Tradeshow (LiPF) Opens July 29

The three-day Livestock, Poultry and Fisheries Tradeshow (LiPF 2019), is scheduled to open, Monday, July 29 to Wednesday, July 31 , 2019 at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC), Accra Ghana.

The Livestock, Poultry and Fisheries Tradeshow (LiPF) will run alongside the 7th edition of the All African Conference on Animal Agriculture (AACAA), a quadrennial event on Animal and Animal Production held previously in Nairobi (1992), Pretoria (South Africa, 1996), Alexandria (Egypt 2000), Arusha (Tanzania 2005), Addis Ababa (Ethiopia 2010) and Nairobi (Kenya 2014).

The tradeshow is expected to attract about 500 participants, farmers and experts across the African Continent. Over 50 exhibitors have registered to exhibit their businesses at the tradeshow. They include: USDA-AMPLIFIES, Ghana Poultry Project (GPP), Women in Poultry Value Chain, Tilly’s Farms, Frankaston, Okete Farms, Jokas Farms, Flour Mills Ghana, Top Man Farms, Kosher Feedmills, Essar Agro, Jubaili, Aquatic Foods, Meannan Foods, and Delawin.

The tradeshow will include exhibitions and free training sessions from various international and national experts in the animal production field.

These experts will train participants on topics like: Basic milling maintenance, Value Addition to Egg Product as a Business, Mycotoxin and Feed Ingredient Testing Effect on Animal Nutrition, Post- harvest Loss Mitigation Techniques, and Sales Marketing Strategy, among others. These topics have been split to run concurrently with the tradeshow to offer participants the opportunity to have a basic knowledge on the topics. Certificates would be awarded to participants at the end of the tradeshow.

The trainers include Dr. Charles Stark, Kansas State University; Madam Ligaya Diaz, Chief of Party, USDA AMPLIFIES; Mr. Raymond Denteh, Commercial Development Team Lead, Ghana Poultry Project; Mr. Ishmael Nartey Amanor; Mr. Mohammed Ali, Agricultural Development Bank; Mrs. Victoria Norgbey, National President, Apex Body of Women in Poultry Value Chain in Ghana; Zubeiru Salifu, Senior Investment Manager, AV Ventures LLC; Madam Charity Annan; Mr. Boris B. and Dr. J. Amakye-Anim.

According to Madam Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa, Executive Director of Agrihouse Foundation “The Livestock, Poultry and Fisheries Tradeshow will offer farmers the opportunity to network and be a part of the decision-making process. It will also offer them an opportunity to be trained on how to better manage their animals and their products like milk, egg and meat to increase yield and productivity as this would not only make the business profitable but would also expand the sector and increase the national economy,” she said.

The three-day event is an initiative of Agrihouse Foundation and the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA). It is sponsored by Assist in the Management of Poultry and Layer Industries with Feed Improvements and Efficiency Strategies (AMPLIFIES Ghana) and Ghana Poultry Project (GPP).
