Training of Agro-Input Dealers in the Northern Region of Ghana

The African Fertilizer and Agribusiness Partnership (AFAP), through the Alliance for Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), under the Africa’s Smallholder Inclusive Productivity and Market Access (SIPMA) Project, and in collaboration with the Ghana Agri-Input Dealers’ Association (GAIDA), International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Croplife, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Plant Protection and Regulatory Services Directorate (PPRSD) of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA), wish to invite all Agri-Input Dealers in the Northern Region to a 3-day Technical and Business Management Training leading to an endorsed Certificate by the EPA and PPRSD of MoFA.

The agro-input dealer training seeks to build the capacity of agro-input dealers to provide quality services to smallholder farmers. Agro-input dealers will be trained on:

¬ Control of Fall Armyworm;

¬ Aflatoxins;

¬ Good Agronomic Practices on maize and soybean; and

¬ Business management skills.

The program will be organized in two phases as follows with total target of 200 agro-input dealers. The training is scheduled as follows:

Phase 1

Date: July 3-July 7, 2018

Reporting date: July 3, 2018

Departure: July 7, 2018

Venue: Radach Hotel, Tamale

Number of participants expected: 100

Districts to be covered are:

¬ Tamale Metro

¬ Savelugu/Nantong

¬ Tolon/Kumbugu

¬ Karaga

¬ Yendi


Phase II

Date: July 8-July 12, 2018

Reporting Date: July 8, 2018

Departure: July 12, 2018

Venue: Radah Hotel, Tamale

Number of participants expected: 100

Districts to be covered are:

¬ Zabzugu/Tatale

¬ Bimbilla

¬ Chariponi/Saboba

¬ Central Gonja

¬ West Gonja/Salaga

¬ North Gonja

¬ West Mamprusi/East Mamprusi
