Planting For Food and Jobs Campaign: Pre-Qualification of Fertilizer Suppliers

Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA)

  1. The Ministry of Food and Agriculture intends to purchase fertilizer for distribution to farmers for the 2018 cropping season under the “Planting for Food and Jobs” campaign. The fertilizers to be covered include Compound fertilizers (NPK) of all sort but which are suitable for our soil conditions (e.g 15-15-15, 23-10-05, 20-10-10 etc) and urea.The quantities to be delivered under each type would be:
    1 NPK 120,000MT All the districts in Ghana
    2 Urea 60,000MT
    3 Organic Fertilizer 20,000MT


    The Ministry may allocate specified quantities under each fertilizer types to qualified companies for importation and distribution for the promotion of efficiency and minimizing risk to the programme.

  2. The Ministry now invites eligible firms to indicate their interests in providing       the services which include:


I. Distributing these fertilizers at designated supply points in all the districts in Ghana

II. Maintaining fertilizers supply to farmers all year round

III. Compiling data on supplies, sales and beneficiary farmers


  1. Interested firms/companies must provide the following information indicating their ability to participate in the PFJ campaign.


a. Must have the capacity and facility to import and distribute fertilizer

b. Must have established outlets and agents in all Regions

c. Must have access to warehousing facility in the designated Regions

d. Must have PPRSD certification with respect to fertilizer import

e. Must have Fertilizer manufacture’s authorization and quality assurance

f. Must provide Company profile/brochures

g. Give a summary of Companies operations in fertilizer distribution for 2016 and 2017.

h. Companies should state their indicative prices and give cost structure in respect to transportation charges.


  1. Interested eligible Tenderers may purchase the Plant and Fertilizer document on the submission of a written application to the address “A” below and upon a payment of a nonrefundable fee of one Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC1,000) only.


Pre-Qualification document must be delivered to the address below on or before 10:00am Wednesday December 20, 2017. Late submission will be rejected.
