Tradeline Farms is an integrated agribusiness company into production and aggregation of food commodities across Ghana and Southern Africa.
The company is securing 10,000 acres of farmlands in 200 acre- blocks and is seeking the services of farm managers to manage the various farms. This forms part of its Youth in Agribusiness Program (YAP) and graduate in- grower scheme.
Location of farmlands: Volta, Northern, Brong Ahafo and Eastern Regions.
Commodities: Cashew, Maize, Turmeric, Passion Fruit, Oil Palm and exotic vegetables.
~ Directs and coordinates worker activities, such as planting, irrigation, chemical application, harvesting, grading, record-keeping and determine procedural changes in drying, grading, storage, and shipment for greater efficiency and accuracy.
~ Analysis of soil to determine type and quantity of fertilizer required for maximum production and coordinating growing activities with those of engineering, equipment maintenance, pack houses, and other related departments.
~ Analyse market conditions to determine acreage allocations and confer with purchasers and arranges for sale of crops.
~ Records information, such as production, farm management practices and parent stock, prepare monthly financial and operational reports.
Qualifications Required and Experience
~ Minimum BSc. Agricultural Crop Science with 3 to 5 years working experience managing farms or other relevant experience and education
~ Good understanding of the dynamics and challenges of agricultural partnerships and value chains
~ Ability to manage complex projects, involving many internal and external stakeholders (top management, commercial division, marketing, risk, external partners, etc.)
~ Ability to manage negotiations with external partners (business partners, suppliers, farmers’ organizations, etc.)
~ Ability to manage a project team
~ Must possess a valid Ghanaian driver’s license
