Expression of Interest: Cassava Processing Plant

Christian Aid in partnership with various organisations is implementing the Growing Economic Opportunities for Sustainable Development (GEOP) project. The project is implemented in the Ellembele district in Western Region and the Ayawaso East and Ablekuma and Ablekuma South sub metros. The partners on this project are Accra Metropolitan Assembly, United Civil Society Organisations for National Development ( UCSOND), Ellembele District Assembly, the Ghanaian Institute of Welders (GIW) and the Gratis Foundation.

One of the objectives of the project is to add value to cassava produce through processing activities. Based on assessment and interactions with stakeholders, it has become essential to establish a micro cassava processing facility in Menzezor in the Ellembele District for value addition and provision of alternative market to cassava farmers in and around the district.

Name of the Project: Growing Economic Opportunities for Sustainable Development (GEOP)
Works to be done: Cassava processing facility with a 2 ton/hr grating capacity, run by alternate power source, with a roaster, kiln and a structure to house these equipment. It also includes training of selected end users on the usage of the processing plant.

Location of the plant: Menzezor in Ellembele District in the Western Region

Eligible Firms: Firms having experience in fabrication, installation and training (usage) of Cassava Processing plant with alternate power sources.
