The Forest Plantation Development Fund Act, 2000 (Act 583) established the Forest Development Fund Management Board with functions which include among others:
¬ Sourcing and administration of funds to facilitate timber plantation establishment
¬ Promoting feasible schemes that supports forest plantation establishment,and
¬ Providing incentives for plantation forestry development in Ghana
In its quest to achieve its mandate, the Forest Plantation Development Fund Management Board is collaborating with the Forestry Commission to apply some of its funds to support successful applicants to be allocated degraded forest reserve lands to develop a minimum of 5 hectares ( approximately 12.5 acres) of private commercial forest plantations.
We are therefore, inviting young persons who are interested to apply to the Fund Board for support by submitting their applications for a selection interview.
¬Qualifications: Holders of degree or diploma in Natural Resource Management or other related field of study
¬ Age: Applicants should be between 21-35 years of age
¬Working Experience: Should have completed National Service
¬ Physical Fitness: Should pass a medical test form froma designated medical facility
¬ Develop and maintain forest plantation in a forest reserve in Ashanti, Brong Ahafo or Eastern Regions of Ghana
¬ Submit periodic reports on progress of work
¬ Document, keep, and safely store records on their activities
¬ Secure and maintain equipment/tools and other logistics that would be allocated to them
Duration of Support: for initial period of two (2) years subject to extension.
